消费者也越来越担心持续的通胀压力。密歇根大学消费者调查显示，4月份的消费者信心指数为77.9，低于道琼斯共识估计的79.9。未来一年和长期的通胀预期也有所上升，反映了对持续通胀的不满。
今年以来的一系列报告显示，通胀和整体经济状况仍高于预期。这迫使交易员大幅调降对美联储今年可能降息次数的预测。据芝商所集团的数据显示，交易员主要在预测只会有两次降息，而在今年年初曾预测至少会有六次。
BlackRock的拉里·芬克(Larry Fink)认为，美联储今年将两次降息，但无法达到2%的通胀目标。
AMD和Intel因报道称中国要求电信公司移除外国芯片而下跌。
StubHub计划在夏季进行首次公开募股，寻求165亿美元的估值。

Stocks fell on Friday as major U.S. banks kicked off the corporate earnings season while inflation and geopolitical concerns weighed on investors.
JPMorgan Chase shares declined more than 3% after the banking giant posted its first-quarter results. The bank said net interest income, a key measure of what it makes through lending activities, could be a little short of what Wall Street analysts are expecting in 2024. CEO Jamie Dimon also warned about persistent inflationary pressures weighing on the economy.
Wells Fargo slid around 1.1% after reporting its latest quarterly figures.
Citigroup added more than 1% after posting a revenue beat.
Coupled with fresh U.S. imports data, added fuel to inflation concerns that have put pressure on the market.
